Chocolate covered S'mores

On Saturday we needed a small little project to motivate us and this is what Ashley came up with. It is chocolate covered S'mores found on Eighteen 25's website.

You take your graham cracker, marshmallow, chocolate bar and put them in the microwave for 10 seconds and then put a stick inside of the marshmallow. You then let it cool in the freezer for 30 minutes. After that we melted chocolate and covered them. They turned out pretty cute, way better than the picture and were really easy to make. I liked the ones that were not completely covered in chocolate. These would make a really cute gift for a neighbor or if you were really ambitious you could make them to pass out on Halloween.

Fall Wreath

For a long time I have seen Burlap wreaths pop up on several blogs, I like wreaths and kept thinking I should try to make one. Well a couple of weeks ago I saw this one and really liked it (I can't remember where I saw it) so I thought I would give it a try. I got my Burlap at Mill Ends, but Walmart has some also.

I cut the Burlap into strips about 2 inches and wrapped it around the wreath using hot glue on each end to keep it in place. The Burlap was pretty mess but I think the wreath turned out really cute. After the wreath was wrapped with Burlap and took three small pieces and glued them loosely on the wreath, this way I could pin the flowers on it and then change it for other things if I decided to do that.

I cute the flowers out and twisted them and hot glued them together, gluing a button on for the center. I think it turned out pretty cute, if I did another I would probably do different flowers but they are still okay.

Edited Pictures

I finally had a few minutes tonight to work on editing Melanie's wedding pictures and a couple of Ryan & Sami. It's hard to know exactly how much editing people like--so if you want something different let me know.

Train Car

......I can't even begin to convey how exhausted I am. I forget every year how hard it is to teach school. It takes at least a month before I feel human again I am SOOO tired. However, I am pretty pleased with my class this year. We are getting used to each other--I think they are still afraid of me (which is a good thing). I am definitely going to have to work harder than I did last year--but that's okay. I'm putting in a lot of time helping our new teacher and keeping all the computers running in the school. But---if one more person gets me to their room and I find something isn't plugged in---or the flip on the power strip is turned off---I just might scream.

Anyway...This totally deserves to be seen. Our theme this year is "Ride the Learning Train" ----horrible theme---what the heck do you do??  Me?? I have the most awesome brother-in-law who always pulls through for me and comes up with great ideas. So---we have a very authentic train car. This little thing (it's really big) took hours to make. But---it is SOOO COOL---you really need to see it in person to get the true effect. We used to graffiti to write every student's name. Let me tell you---they think it is awesome. Every day they ask me if I did all that (I don't really answer that question).

End of Summer

I am sad that summer is gone but also happy that it is over. My kids need the routine, it seems like things go smoother when school is going. We have done a lot to get ready for the end of summer. Now we will start, dance and piano along with school, and both girls can't wait.

School supplies, I love looking at these and finding new interesting things that have come out.

Canning, I usually go to my moms house and help her can, so far we have done beans, applesauce and some Apricots. Still a lot more to do. There is a funny story with the beans. I had Megan and Ashlynn help and Megan said why do we have to snap the beans. I told her because that is what I did when I was little was help and her reply back was, Well you grew up old fashioned.

Getting ready for cold lunch. This year I made a drawer with different food, snacks and drinks so it is all together. Hopefully this will make lunch making easier and faster.

Getting good back to school pictures is really a lot of fun. This year I add a sign that said what grade they were in. It was pretty much impossible to get a good one of Ashlynn without her cheesy smile but I did get some good ones of Megan.

End of Summer

Yes--It is the end of summer...unfortunately!!! What I wouldn't give for just a few more days when I didn't have to get up and go anywhere or do anything!!!

Canning (not that I do any). Along with this eating all that good stuff from the garden.
Having to wear pants and socks and shoes. I'm holding off a little with these shoes because I still don't have to wear socks. I never know what the temperature will be in my classroom--so I have to dress in layers. I don't know about you--but my feet do NOT like going back to being suffocated in shoes and socks.
Yes---I have already spent several hours grading papers!!! Not usually very much fun.

Thanks for playing along with our photography challenge. It has been fun---it was much easier to do at the beginning of summer. We're thinking we might do something during the holidays--we'll see how it goes.

3 Tier

Awhile back I made this 3-Tier cupcake/craft holder. It was a blast to make, I had a lot of fun spray painting the pans. I got three different size cake pans/tins from the DI and then I primed them and spray painted them brown. I also used candle stick holder from the dollar store, I wish they were a little taller. I actually gave it to Megan and she keeps some of her craft things in it. I do really like how it looks with the lemons in it and so I might have to take it back. It was really easy to do. The idea came from the Crafting Chicks.
