It's All in the Packaging

I am a firm believer that the packaging of a gift makes a HUGE difference. I will use these little gifts for a Secret Santa we do at school. I don't know who I have and I like to do several things, so I always look for inexpensive things to use. But, when packaged up really cute---nobody even thinks about the fact that most of it came from the dollar section.

Okay--see the cute little label on the can---that's my chalkboard vinyl---makes my cute*dollar bin*4th of July--it looks cute, huh?

SANTA

I just love these SANTA letters. I am getting into the glitter thing. The S is covered completely with glitter and the hat on the T is glittered up also. I have decided that painted these wooden letters is a lot more work than my usual of covering them with scrapbook paper.
edited: The glitter---I am just painting it with Mod Podge and then sprinkling the glitter on. I fee like it is still coming off, but it is way better than when I tried with Elmer's glue. I did a test run on a piece of wood that wasn't painted and I think it has stayed better on the unpainted wood than the painted. But, the I was afraid you would be able to see that it wasn't painted underneath.

Countdown to Christmas

I have been getting some things done in  my time off and I will post them throughout the week. This little project I just did last night, but I am so excited about it, that I will share it first. I thought it would be fun to have a little countdown to Christmas on my classroom door.  (One of the other teachers has a candy countdown she does, which I may still incorporate.) So, I bought this cool frame at DI before Halloween---it was very ugly gold---I spray painted it red---in the freezing cold last night.  Then I cut the words out with my Silhouette--they are applied on top of the glass. Next I cut a piece of scrapbook paper, which is sitting behind the glass. One of the coolest things on this is the little spot for the number---it is chalkboard vinyl---way cool...I just cut the little design on my Silhouette. I can definitely see cool things coming with this. Can you tell I like it??  I am going to hang it on my classroom door (I think)---and let the kids change the day.

Picture Frame Wreath

I went to a craft party a few weeks ago. This is the project that I took. It was pretty easy to put together and was easy to do with things you have on hand. I did buy the picture frames from D.I. because I needed a few of them. I spray painted the frame brown and added the ornaments and ribbon. I just tied everything on so I can change it out with other holidays. Nothing is glued down.

Baby Johnson

Kim had her baby yesterday around 10 am. The baby weight 6 lbs 8 oz. He is a pretty cute little thing. Kim looked pretty good after she had him but she would probably kill me if I put the picture of him and her on here. Congratulations.

Caring & Sharing Tree

This is the tree we put together for Caring & Sharing. We have a service group at school that helps put it together. The kids donated the books and then they colored the bookmarks and painted the bookworms. I don't think it turned out too bad.

Happy Thanksgiving

I saw these cute little pilgrim hats last year and thought they would just be something easy and fun to do. All they are is a fudge strip cookie and Reese peanut butter cup. I'm going to put one at each place for Thanksgiving---just something  a little fun.

Turkey Hair Clips

One day as I was wasting time on the Internet, I saw some really cute turkey hair clips. They just seemed so fun. So, today I happened to come across a clip again. I just used what I had on hand. Okay---I made mom do it!! I think they turned out really fun. I guess the first person who comes around gets them!!!!

SNOW DAY

There is nothing better than a snow day!!! Well, maybe when there are two in a row!!! Yeah, I am pretty happy to bet getting almost a week off. So.....I can finally be creative. At school, we have a service group called K-Kids and for the last two years, we have done a tree for the Caring and Sharing. This year the tree is themed around books and reading. We haven't actually put the tree together yet, that is tomorrow. But, I was in charge of getting wooden letters that said read. I just finished them up and they turned out really fun.

Skirt

About six weeks ago, Merlynn and I picked out some material for Mom to make Ashlynn a skirt. Our ideas for the skirt changed several times. Last week at church, a couple ladies had some cute skirts on. We decided we liked the style and Mom whipped the skirt out for Ashlynn. I think it turned out really cute. I love the colors.

thank you...

My Relief Society night on Gratitude is over. I think everything went pretty well. I had several people help me with various things and I wanted to thank them, so I made these little bags, put some candy and a small note thanking them. I just really want them to know that I appreciate the help, because there is no way I could have done everything myself.

We had these cards available for the sisters to make at Relief Society. All they had to do was assemble them---and who doesn't need thank you cards?

I know what you are all thinking. Why would Cinda make a head band? For those of you that don't know me I only have boys. Well, anyway I made this headband about a month ago and it took me that long to find a cute girl to give it to. This was a fun project for me because I rarely get to make girly things.

Cards & Socks

One of my really good friends is having a a birthday this week. I worked with her for about 9 years and we became very close, I think she probably knows me about as well as anyone (and she still likes me). Well, it is always so hard to figure out what to get her that lets her know how much I really appreciate her friendship. I got the socks when we were in Washington D.C. and then I decided to make her some cards. I hope she likes them.

I guess you could say there isn't too much creativity going on around here. Just a lot of living life. Lots of ideas in my head--but no time to do them.
