Canvas

Back at Christmas when I did the canvas for Aubrie's play house---I was looking around for ideas and saw a set of three large canvases that I really liked. So--I found a shape I could make work on my Silhouette and cut the vinyl....and the quit because honestly, it was not looking good. So I shoved them on to a shelf. About three or four weeks ago---I wanted to finish all the unfinished project laying around, so I pulled them out again. I stuck the vinyl on the canvas and went to town spray painting. The whole time I was hoping they would be okay--and knew that I could just spray paint over it if I didn't like them. Amazingly---I really like them. After three weeks I finally bought some nails (yeah--funny---I had to BUY nails to hang them up). I think they look really good. Here are a few pictures of the process
First I spray painted the canvases a cream color, then I applied my design, which I had cut out of vinyl..

Then I spray painted them brown. You can kind of see that vinyl. When they were dry, I pulled the vinyl off.
I had a really hard time getting a good picture of them without a really bad glare and looking brown.

Project Life

This is an update on my Project Life. I am really liking it, we like to look back at it even though it has only been a month. So far it has been pretty easy to keep up on. I print my pictures at Costco and usually get them every 2-3 weeks. I have been trying to find new ideas for pictures. I am going to try and also improve my snapshot picture taking skills.

These two pages are one week. The pictures are from the week of Jan. 16. They range from Megan's birthday to watching for the bus, and the last one Megan took with her DSI of when she went ice fishing with Steve.

These pictures vary from birthday treats to taking pictures of a new baby, shoes worn to church and food.

Family Guess Who

I have wanted to make one of these Guess Who games for a long time. The kids at school have always seemed to like this game. Well--when I went to go buy a game to try it---at first I couldn't find the original game---and then it was like $18---which I didn't think was worth it. At Christmas time, I picked a game up for $10. For my mom's birthday---I took pictures of the grandkids and resized them to fit over the game pieces (I am still missing a few kids I didn't have recent pictures of). I just glued my pictures over the original game pieces. The kids REALLY like it---there's just something about playing a game that connects with people you know.
